The image is clear, which definitely helps. The frontwards perspective that you used is normally dull due to overuse, however, the dull perspective works fine because of the owl's expression. Owls can be very expressive, and you definitely caught this one at a time of extreme expression. <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/x/x…" width="15" height="15" alt=":XD:" title="XD"/> He has a lot of character, which always enhances the photo. I haven't seen many images of owls with open mouths, so it was a treat to view this shot, since this moment seems to be fairly rare. Finally, it is good that you put the background out of focus, because it would have been a distraction. It is also dark, which makes the bird stand out. Overall, great job!
