Germany wins 4 - 1

congratulations, it was an exciting match :D

but can you believe it ?! 44 years ago, when there was a possibility the ball didnt enter the goal, it was accepted, and today when the ball surely and clearly entered, it was not accepted ! :P

I didn't see it, I was driving :(

Yes, funny thing, now I think Germany and England are even, hahaha. OK, not really, in 1966 was the final match, not just a ko round :)

lool. It only needed a goal from England so that the score becomes 4 - 2 but this time for Germany, and then this match would be similar to the 1966 one

This time around it seems like there are many wrong decisions of rather significant impact.

yea unfortunately. The referee of this match was kicked out. Him and his assistants. It was a deadly mistake. The match could have changed had the score been 2 - 2

im fed up of the world cup... there's nothing exciting about it but people *assume* that it is exciting because its different... its like thats the only thing people can think of. its silly, coz we were watching mock the week which is recorded on tuesday and then broadcasted on thursday, and so they were going on about how no one is going to be watching wimbledon now the world cup is on... and then from tuesday-thursday wimbledon hosted the longest ever tennis match... :P serves them right for thinking intesresting things will only go on at the world cup doesnt it. i bet they watched it back and were cringing..

=D

Haha, Alex is back! ;)

You know what? I think the longest tennis match was a setup!!! The two guys had a beer or two a few nights earlier and said to each other "you know what? We are not going to win this tourney anyway, how about if we do this ..."

haha, obviously :P if they did that they'd have waited until they got to 100 games each :P

are you celebrating now? absolutely thrashed we were... going on facebook and there was a whole load of status updates about the time of our disallowed goal going "football is a ridiculous sport" (i mean, tell me something i dont know) and "why cant they have hawkeye" :P i watched the beginning and the end of the match, and it was just so embarrassing. they always hype it up loads before a game, and then afterwards they are like "but we lost. how can we lose. what is happening to us? serious questions will be asked tonight: why has rooney not done better" and you're like... dear lord, a) because he was good before doesnt mean he cant have an off period now b) we live in Britain for god's sake... surely people will have realised by now that we do lose everything, we are not a significant country anymore, and lets be honest we were never that great in the first place... *shakes head* ah well... it could be worse. my sister's in Germany at the moment, I wouldn't like to be her having to face people tomorrow...

I've followed the USA's massive victory over England (translation, they managed a draw when they should have lost) and the most excellent victory over Algeria to get into the 2nd round. Was kind of worried in that last game.
